Carnivorous Bee?
I thought that all bees, beetles etc. are pure herbivores living on honey,pollen and fruit and plant sap... till i saw this unknown insect in my garden, devouring a smaller one...
That looks like a "Robber Fly." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asilidae They're related to house flies and other Diptera. You can tell because of the big eyes and reduced antennae, which is common among most flies (Diptera).
